    Yes, stock turbo EA855 Evo 2.5 TFSI's can break into the 9's. There were a couple cars that encountered engine issues trying to get there but as this slip attests to it can be done with room to spare. The turbo, transmission, engine internals, and clutches are all stock. There is quite a bit of weight strpped out though although how much is anyone's guess. There is a lightweight battery, racing seat, etc. Not to mention lightweight wheels with smaller A3 brakes: That 1.478 60 foot is stellar. For reference, there is a Hellcat in the left lane and the TT-RS beats it by almost half a second. Suddenly, that twin screw supercharged Hemi 6.2 liter V8 doesn't seem so tough. The car is on E85 and has bolt ons as well. As for that 60 foot on stock clutches there is a TCU there that is not APR raising the line pressure for greater clamping force. Until anyone else proves otherwise, this is the overall stock turbo 2.5 TFSI record.

    You know both of these cars but here is a little refresher. The yellow ES850 upgraded Porsche 991.1 Turbo S recently set the stock internal 1/2 mile record on the platform. The McLaren 720S features the Pure Turbo hybrid M840T turbocharger upgrade and currently holds the overall 1/4 mile record for the 720S platform. Skip to the 3:15 mark in the video to see the runs. Suffice it to say, the 911 Turbo S just is not a match from a roll. It will take a built motor example with some big turbos to play. During these runs the 911 Turbo was posted a best 5.3X 60-130. That at least gives you an idea of what you need to be ahead of to run with this 720S.

    BMW S85 V10 stroker and bigger bore builds are nothing new but Fast Attack Motorsports is building the largest S85 V10 BimmerBoost knows of. Many S85 stroker builds top out at 5.6 liters maybe stretching to 5.7 but 5.9 liters is new territory. Fast Attack Motorsports is claiming to get there with a bore of 94mm and stroke of 85mm. This adds up to 5898cc. The factory S85 V10 bore is 92mm and the stroke is 75.2 mm. This adds up to 4999cc. Adding almost a liter is a huge increase. Dinan goes to 94mm bores for their S85 and S65 builds but the cylinder walls get very thin at that point. Do not expect to be able to throw any boost or nitrous at this S85 V10 if Fast Attack Motorsports even succeeds with the build. Fast Attack Motorsports you may recall last year also stated they would pair the S85 V10 with a DCT transmission and control it through the factory DME. This has yet to be done. BimmerBoost hopes these projects succeed and do not just fade away as many tend to do.

    This comparison is almost perfect. What is wrong? Autocar did not get the correct Porsche. While the GT3 RS is a spectacular car it is getting outmuscled by the turbocharged rivals presented here. Autocar should have brought a GT2 RS to this party. Just because the lineup is not perfect (despite Autocar's lame excuses regarding the GT2 RS) does not mean this is not interesting. These are three spectacular track cars and the world's best at what they do. The car that should win on paper is the 600LT but Ferrari is sending ringers to magazines. You have to think for yourself when viewing the test results because in the turbo era 'Press Files' for test cars are all too common. The roadcourse testing takes place at the Anglesey Coastal Circuit. The laptime testing is in addition to 0-100-0 sprint timing. Here is the result: BoostAddict is having a very hard time believing the Pista is almost a second faster to 100 miles per hour than the 600LT. And 1.7 seconds quicker around the track? The GT3 RS coming up short is no surprise. It just lacks the power but still shows very well. The Pista dominating the 600LT by a greater margin than the 600LT manages to be ahead of the GT3 RS on the track just does not smell right. We need to see some independent 488 Pista testing at this point.

    The initial rumors were that Volkswagen would take the GTI over 300 horsepower for the MK8 generation. That was supposed to allow the Golf R to grow to ~400 horsepower or so. It seems Volkswagen will not be getting so aggressive which is a shame. The GTI Cup will not be a limited edition model but instead become a permanent offering in between the GTI and Golf R. It is expected to have suspension and aerodynamic enhancements as well as 286 horsepower and 274 lb-ft of torque. Yes, it is front wheel drive. Reports state the Golf R will get a modest bump to 328 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque which frankly is underwhelming if it is expected to challenge all wheel drive rivals in 2019. VWBoost was hoping Volkswagen would be a bit more aggressive with the MK8 performance credentials. Source

    'Both cars to the track' means a 28'+ 2 car trailer, dual axle, steel, heavy, +weight of 2 cars. Probably closer to 12k total weight including the trailer. Plus weight of truck and you are looking at close to 18K pounds going down the road. A ranger is too small and light to tow that trailer with 2 cars on it. F150 not much better. Don't just look at HP in a tow rig. LOOK AT BRAKES! And hitches and frame. Just because you have a 10k hitch, when bolted to a 7k max frame, doesn't mean you can tow 10k. I've towed with many vehicles. '99 F150 with SC 4.6L- towed Jeep Cherokee on a 16' aluminum trailer-did OK, 28' boat-truck was too short '00 Excursion 7.3L Diesel- towed built Jeep 5k pounds on steel 22' tilt deck- plenty of power, Not enough brakes!! or suspension '11 Ram 5500 6.7L Crew Cab utility bed manual- beast, will tow anything, has 15.25" disc brakes front and rear, stops safely. Real question when looking at a Tow rig- -New or used? Warranty? -tow weights, and be realistic and honest. -rig length and towed trailer length -hitches and brakes -how ofter will it be used, couple times a year or every month? and how far will it tow? 100 miles or 1000 miles? -A real tow rig or a 'toy' to modify and post on the forum? -Insurance? f450-550 and Ram 4500-5500 require 'Commercial' insurance. State Farm and 3 others would not put a 5500 on my regular car policy. 'Because it is a commercial vehicle' even though I only use it for personal use. -Financing? Bank or dealer would not finance a F450-550 or Ram 4500-5500 because it is a commercial vehicle but would nave no problem financing a F350 or Ram 3500. I wold recommend a used F350 or Ram3500, 3 years old or so, new enough to still be under warranty and New Ranger or F150 with 2.7L or 3.5L to play with. Trailers- That's a whole 'nother discussion.
